Trump Has Transformed Politics, But Into What?

Contrary to considerable negative public opinion, I must assert that Donald J. Trump is perhaps the best thing to happen to America in its entire history. His peculiar qualifications, non-conventional psychological constitution, and remarkable absence of self-control make him a distinctly influential political player. He has single-handedly ripped the shrouds of ambiguity and obfuscation off the face of the Republican Party, revealing in stark clarity the fundamental beliefs of his party.
“Donald is to politics what the Corvair was to automobiles, what lead was to house paint, what unsealed Tylenol was to the pharmaceutical bottle industry.”

No “normal” candidate could have come close to the degree of public illumination proffered by The Donald. Having no apparent knowledge of legal, political, social, or economic issues certainly didn’t hurt him, but his primary strength has been the repulsive allure of his fabulous wealth, built on the backs of others’ financial failures; as well as his orange personality and keen eye for reptilian entertainment.
Donald is to politics what the Corvair was to automobiles, what lead was to house paint, what unsealed Tylenol was to the pharmaceutical bottle industry. He is changing the game. In this context, he should be applauded for his mindless spotlighting of core conservative ideals, including racism, xenophobia, misogyny, and moral bankruptcy. I believe strongly that he has paved the way for a prolonged continuation of the rational presidential style we’ve witnessed for the past seven years, as well as a much-needed and complete overhaul of congress that is likely to last a lifetime. Wise American voters are thoroughly in charge again!
